Liz Truss, Steve Bannon and Tucker Carlson? A Look Inside the Former PM's Attempt for the Maga Movement

Britain's shortest-serving prime minister, launched the premiere of her video series with a pledge to reveal "the evil-doers" working to undermine the UK, United States and European nations. Truss elaborated she would lay bare how an "worldwide alliance of leftists work to undermine popular rule and the public's choice."

"Our focus will be on the political movement of Donald Trump and observe how it can be replicated in Britain," the former PM stated. "We'll be talking to the prominent voices of the Trumpist political sphere."

A Controversial Partner

The former PM's foray to transplant the pro-Trump media model to the UK has pushed her closer to contentious individuals such as Solomon.

He set up the platform in the wake of criticism following accusations of pushing false stories about the President's actions in Ukraine, as well as controversial stories about one-time diplomat to Ukraine.

His claims were amplified within the conservative press, with he serving as a regular guest on the prominent cable news broadcast. The former president personally endorsed the journalist's work.

Solomon made the reports about Ukraine in a series of columns for the outlet the Hill, after having been re-designated as an opinion writer when staffers raised concerns over his articles. These reports were pivotal in Trump's pressure for the Ukrainian government to look into the Bidens in 2019. These actions culminated in articles of impeachment against Trump. Weeks after Solomon left the publication in late 2019, the news organization announced it was conducting a review of his columns relating to the Ukraine issue. "Online platforms transcends national boundaries," he said. "There exists a sort of environment within which ideas travel – at times manifesting in radical ways and sometimes less so – but which is connected."

The academic said the rise of the digital conservative movement in the UK in recent times meant the "possibility to have a larger effect is significant."
