Iranian Forces State Attack on US Base in the Kingdom of Bahrain, As Part of Widespread Counterattacks.

Iranian forces say they have struck a American military facility in Bahrain, as Iran launched missile attacks across the region in response for a "massive" and continuing offensive against it by the United States and Israeli forces.

Huge plumes of black smoke were seen rising from an zone in the area of the headquarters of the US Navy's Fifth Fleet in Manama, Bahrain. The full scale of any damage is not yet known and the United States has remained silent.

Missile Defenses Activated

Elsewhere across the region, the United Arab Emirates, the State of Qatar and Kuwait - which all house American military installations - reported they have intercepted incoming projectiles in their airspace.

In the Qatari capital, the Qatari Ministry of Defence stated it had successfully engaged a number of projectiles apparently targeting the Al Udeid Air Base, the biggest US military installation in the region.

Operation "Truthful Promise 4"

The Iranian Revolutionary Guard said in a statement it was attacking US bases and assets as part of military campaign "Truthful Promise 4", in reprisal for the offensive on Iran initiated by the United States and its ally Israel on Saturday morning.

That US-Israeli operation - executed at around 06:15 GMT - has so far targeted locations associated with the Tehran's leadership, with US President Donald Trump urging the people of Iran to revolt against the regime.

In the State of Israel, air raid sirens sounded across the country after the Israeli military stated it had detected an barrage of missiles from Iran.

The defence ministry of the United Arab Emirates stated that the country has been targeted by a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".

"UAE air defence systems engaged the missiles with high efficiency and destroyed a number of missiles," the statement continued.

The statement noted wreckage fell on a residential area in Abu Dhabi, causing some material damage and the death of one civilian.

The United States Air Force is stationed at Al Dhafra Air Base, south of Abu Dhabi, along with the Emirati Air Force.
