Prosecutors have announced that a ex- doctor stands accused of committing assaults involving 38 individuals who were under his care.
Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham is accused of numerous acts of sexual assault – including acts against minors under the age of thirteen – spanning the period from 2017 to 2021.
One deputy chief CPS official stated, “Our prosecutors have diligently worked to support a thorough and intricate investigation, carefully reviewing the evidence to determine that there is a strong case to bring the case to trial and that it is in the public interest.”
These allegations follow what police described as a “detailed inquiry” into alleged sexual offences at medical facilities: the Royal Stoke university hospital and a facility in Dudley.
Spencer is scheduled to appear at the North Staffordshire justice centre on 20 January.
