Correspondence Highlight the late financier and former Trump strategist Relationship

In November 2018, Steve Bannon, formerly Donald Trump's chief strategist, visited the UK preparing for a address at the Oxford Union.

The event was interrupted by hundreds of demonstrators, and Bannon, who was due to travel that evening, told Jeffrey Epstein in an message: "Activists delayed my talk don't think I can catch the flight we are heading to heathrow".

Epstein replied: "There. Is a Gulf Air that leaves at 950 with a stop in Bahrain". Bannon replied: "U r an amazing helper".

These messages were published on Wednesday alongside over 20,000 documents from the estate of Epstein, the late convicted sex offender.

The disclosure by the Congressional committee includes an text conversation where Bannon's identity is redacted. The BBC managed to establish his involvement by matching the timeline, occurrences, and places referenced.

For instance, Epstein talks about chartering a jet from Scotland for the unnamed individual in the chat, and offers praise their "Oxford speech". Bannon participated in the Edinburgh conference on 14 November, and gave the talk at the Oxford on November 16.

Bannon, who faces no allegations of any misconduct, did not reply on the request for comment.

Epstein's Assurance to Bannon

Bannon served as Trump's key aides in the run up to the 2016 election and during the initial phase of his presidency, but stepped down from the White House in August 2017.

He has acknowledged he was making a film about Epstein before his death and reportedly has approximately 15 hours of recordings. In a recording of his podcast recently, he said: "We plan to publish the film, the multi-part documentary, in the coming year - at the start of next year."

But the newly released materials indicate Bannon's connection with Epstein went further than documenting his life, with the disgraced financier occasionally seeming to act like a aide.

A few days before the exchange in which Epstein appeared to have arranged a charter jet for Bannon, Epstein said: "what's it like to have the highest-paid travel agent in the world ".

Bannon expressed gratitude: "You are pretty good assistant", to which Epstein responded "Therapies. Not Included".

Discussing a trip to "AD" in another message, Epstein assured Bannon: "I will ensure you are well looked after."

UK Politics Mentioned in Messages

The published messages also show Bannon and Epstein talking about UK politics in that year.

Earlier on the same day his address at the Oxford Union, Bannon messaged Epstein: "I've gotten pulled into the Brexit issue this morning with Farage, Johnson and Rees Mogg."

Then, in what appears to be a allusion to the UK prime minister, the struggling British leader at the time, he continued: "The guys are trying to move on. may soon…"

Epstein suggested Bannon: "In my view staying as much as you can in the UK. Ideal- so people see the dedication of your follow through."

Shortly after, Epstein inquired: "Will Theresa May survive". Bannon replied: "I don't see how BUT the guys over here have no balls" and noted "Johnson ; Michael Gove; Jacob Rees-Mogg; Davis - someone has to take charge".

May was eventually toppled in 2019 after surviving multiple attempts of lack of support in late 2018.

A representative for the political party told media: "Nigel Farage has not been in a meeting with Bannon, Jacob Rees Mogg and Johnson." And there is nothing to suggest such a meeting occurred.

The Congress will vote soon on whether the Department of Justice should make public all its records related to its investigation into Epstein, who passed away in jail in 2019.

Interest in Epstein's associations with powerful figures was renewed recently after the publication of more than 20,000 documents from his archives.

Some of those mentioned Trump, who has consistently rejected any impropriety. The president was a friend of Epstein's for a long time, but says they fell out in the early 2000s, two years before Epstein was first arrested.
